The Spring and Fall Youth Field Hockey programs are specially designed to introduce young players in Kindergarten through 6th grades to the fun game of field hockey.

Developmental level field hockey is designed for players in grades Kindergarten – 3rd Grade.  Sessions are once a week for a 5 to 8 week period, allowing our youngest athletes the opportunity to explore the sport of field hockey while continuing with their other activities.

The curriculum focuses on developing basic field hockey skills using fun drills and small-sided games.  Emphasis is placed on individual possession skills (ball control) and elimination skills (dodging defenders) as well as pushing and receiving skills (elementary team play).

Regular league play begins with players in grades 4-6.  Pre-season clinics reinforce basic stick and passing skills as well as offensive and defensive skills and positioning.  Weekly practices and games are held over a 8-12 week season.

Required equipment: Outdoor Field Hockey Stick**, Shin Guards, Mouth Guard
